Before I could understand the future of farming, I wanted to start in the past.  In order to accomplish this, I found a podcast series, titled Urban Agriculture - The Third Green Revolution.  I chose to focus on Episode 2: “The Second Green Revolution” for my first move.  This episode is hosted by Dickson Despommier and Vincent Racaniello.  Despommier is an emeritus professor of microbiology and Public Health at Columbia University.  He conducted research on intracellular parasitism from 1971-2009, and he taught courses on Parasitic Diseases.    He is currently researching Urban Sustainable Agricultural Initiatives, Vertical Farming, and Emerging Infectious Disease Ecology.  Racaniello is a Higgins professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.  He also has a Ph.D. fom Mt. Sinai School of Medicine of CUNY.
